Property Taxes - During the 2025 legislative session, a Homestead Exemption provision was enacted to provide Montanans with a reduced property tax rate on their primary residences, as well as allowing homeowners to protect a certain amount of equity in their primary residence from creditors.  This measure should enable homeowners to more effectively manage the financial requirements of homeownership.  I would like to assess the perspectives of Montana residents regarding the impact of this measure and subsequently revise the legislation as appropriate.

Education - In all educational settings—public schools, charter schools, and home schools—it is imperative that the legislature ensures funding and access as specified by statute, according to the options selected by a child's parent(s) or guardian(s), including possible hybrid arrangements. I fully endorse the integration of civics education within the classroom and encourage civic engagement beyond the school environment to foster students' development into responsible and exemplary citizens.

Housing - Through the legislature, measures should be implemented to encourage the private sector, including faith-based or non-profit organizations, to facilitate citizens' entry into the for-purchase or rental housing markets.  Where appropriate, publicly owned land may also be utilized to support these efforts.  The legislature may have a role in specific cases, such as providing affordable workforce housing for public employees.  An example of this is the Pintler Meadows project, which offers housing for state prison employees in the Deer Lodge area (Ref:  https://helenair.com/news/state-regional/government-politics/article_c24977f0-9f18-4a71-a25b-4fb61569a2fc.htmlource).

Economy - Legislation should be designed to promote business development by leveraging Montana’s resources and workforce, offering tax incentives and other measures to stimulate economic growth.  These industries include agriculture, natural resources, manufacturing, tourism, energy production, technology or encouraging new businesses to locate to the Treasure State.

Pro Life - Human life begins at conception.
